And just like that, the season has come to an end. If you look at the overall record (9-11), one might consider this to be an unsuccessful season. Instead of just skimming the surface of this journey, peel back a few of the layers and discover small victories worth celebrating:
*beating Arundel and South River the second time around
*trimming away at half-time deficits
*getting the bench involved
*increasing defensive plays
*ending the season with a win
*players sticking it out until the end of the season
*ALL academically eligible players
Though true that this is a numbers game (stats), the hours of practice, game time, gym time and bonding with teammates & coaches is always priceless. The combination of these elements, with a positive attitude, will inevitably turn into wins over the course of time. Just trust the process.
Congratulations to the JV team – both coaches and players – for discovering that this game isn’t always going to be in your favor, but the lessons learned will be undoubtedly gratifying.
Good luck in the seasons to come! Go Dawgs!
